Leap Coffee Roasters is a wholesale micro-roasters.  We open the warehouse Wednesday – Friday,  9am-3pm for tours and tasting, and always by appointment.  You can purchase our coffees from one of our retail partners or online.

Why Leap?

Because we purchased the Leap Coffee Roasters business on March 1 of 2016 (Leap day, Leap Year) so we thought we’d better keep the name.  All of our coffee beans are Certified Organic and we purchase Fair Trade coffee whenever it’s available.

Who is Leap?

Kari Hirst Starkey founded & ran the Yippee Yi Yo Cafe, in OKC, during the “Second Wave” of coffee, way back when. She has ached to be back in this business of coffee, since it’s now well into the “Third Wave” of
Fair Trade, Organic, conscientious practices give her the way, again, to sell coffee with heart.

Eric Starkey’s passion for coffee helped him succeed in the corporate jungle by day and kept him awake to write and act by night. These two worlds came together when he decided to use everything he’s learned to build his own business where he didn’t have to separate love from livelihood.

Shalondra Harrison’s love for coffee began when her sister sent coffee from her international trips. As the years progressed so did both her love for coffee and for people. After obtaining her BA in Sociology and working in a few different mental health/social service jobs she decided she wanted to be a part of the coffee world. Thanks to an internship that led to a position with Leap Coffee, Shalondra is able to incorporate her love for people and coffee in building relationships with our customers and community. She is also currently working on her Master’s Degree.
